Sweden is among the world’s largest music exporter, only USA and the UK are bigger. The first Swedish band which got well known worldwide was ABBA. With 370 million records sold, Abba is top four in the world. But Abba is just one of many internationally known bands/artists from Sweden, some examples are Ace of Base, Europe, Mando diao, in flames, Robin.

Christmas is the main family event of the year and is often celebrated with family, relatives and sometimes friends. It begins in the morning for the kids, they often get to choose one present from underneath the Christmas tree to play with during the day while the adults is preparing for afternoon when the people come. At 3 a clock everybody gathers in front of the tv to watch Donald Duck and some other traditional movies and short clips. At the evening everybody gathers and wait for Santa to come and hand out the Christmas presents.

Easter appears on the spring where children dress like Easter witches and then walk from house to house in hope of getting sweets. The Easter consists of lots of colourful feathers and eggs which are handed out by the Easter bunny.  Often the parent hide eggs filled with sweets somewhere and give the children clues to follow and find the “prize”.

Midsummer is one of the largest and is celebrated in the summer near 24^th of June or near the solstice. The day usually begins by picking flowers and vegetation to dress the giant maypole, every inch will be covered. This pole is important component to the celebration. When the maypole is covered and done, it’s raised on an open place because it’s necessary with lots of space around it for the traditional dance around the pole. The traditional food is lots of different kinds of herring and boiled potatoes with soured cream and chopped chives. But there is also lots of other stuff to choose from. Beer is the main beverage along with spiced schnapps, every time you cheers you have to sing along with the others a drinking song. For the dessert it’s often summers first strawberries and sugar with milk or cream. At the evening it’s often dance on an outdoor dance floor by the side of the ocean or a lake, on the way home girls pick seven different flowers to put under their pillow and then they will dream about their future husband.
